Silica sol is a dispersion of nano-scale silica particles in water or solvent. Since the SiO2 in the silica sol contains a large amount of water and hydroxyl groups, the silica sol can also be expressed as mSiO2.nH2O. There are different ways to prepare silica sol. The most commonly used methods are ion exchange, silicon powder one-step hydrolysis, and silane hydrolysis.

Application--Investment Casting

Silica sol Precision Casting refers to a precision casting process in which the shell coating adopts silica sol on the basis of Lost Wax Casting. The shell using silica sol as a binder has high strength, high temperature resistance and high temperature deformation, and has the following Advantage:
1. Compared with traditional lost wax casting methods such as sodium silicate, the precision of castings produced by precision casting of silica sol has lower surface roughness, smaller machining allowance, and even no cutting processing.

2. Silica sol precision casting has a wide casting range, and the structure of the casting product is complex. It can cast special-shaped parts that cannot be satisfied by traditional sand molds, lost foam and other processes, and castings with more complex structures.

3. There are many casting materials, the main casting materials are stainless steel, alloy steel, carbon steel, copper alloy, aluminum alloy, etc.

Package & Storage

1.Our company generally uses 25KG, 250Kg, 1000Kg polyethylene plastic barrels, and 16-20 tons container liquid bags for transportation, users can choose according to their needs;

2. In the process of storage and transportation, bump damage and leakage should be prevented; refrigeration and direct sunlight are strictly prohibited, and the best temperature is 5-30℃; pay attention to prevent the entry of dust and other impurities; the product is normal (5-30℃) The shelf life is one year. Long-term high temperature or low temperature will damage the product structure and shorten the stability period. It is recommended to use it within half a year to avoid expiration.
